Old Hollywood

I love old Hollywood. The entertainers today don't hold a candle to the older ones. I wish people would learn that less isn't always better and you don't need to constantly do something for the shock value of it.

Cary Grant & Shirley Temple

Rock Hudson & Doris Day made some of the best movies ever! They were funny and not vulgar, its nice to be able to sit and watch a movie with the whole family and not worry about whats going to be said or done. These are movies that will stand the test of time.

Gone with the wind, need I say more? This movie is terrific. I could literally watch it all day long and never tire of it. I think I have! I love Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh. What wonderful actors they were.

I can't believe that 40 million people a year still watch this show!! I love Lucy and apparently so does everyone else! Good clean fun, my kids watch it and laugh so hard. Its nice to still see it showed on TV at least once a day. Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz were wonderful.

Joan Crawford & Bette Davis were wonderful actresses. They had some conflict with one another but that didn't change the fact that when they were filming they didn't let that interfere.

Paul Newman & Joanne Woodward were the best couple! I loved anything they were in. Both were insanely attractive and the chemistry between the two was very evident.

Natalie Wood and Warren Beatty...Oh how I love Splendor in the grass. That movie kills me every time. You can feel the emotion through the screen. Both are and were great actors. Natalie was taken way to soon.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Not much to say, the picture speaks for itself. One of the best entertainers ever.

Jackie Gleason and Audrey Meadows. One of the best shows ever, The Honeymooners.

  1. Yep, these were all wonderful actors. My Nana and I loved watching Doris Day and Rock Hudson movies together. My daughter and my Nana watched them together as well. She even named my mother Doris! We also love Audrey Hepburn as well as Katherin Hepburn and Spencer Tracy!

  3. One of my favorites is "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir". Gene Tierney was a true beauty and I had such a crush on Rex Harrison, especially in this role. :)
